Pick a contrast you actually want

This proposed Mallorca itinerary combines three nights in Palma with three in the Sóller area. It suits travellers who want city time followed by a different coastal or valley setting. It is not an attempt to cover the entire island in a week.

Choose Sóller town or Port de Sóller deliberately for the second stay. The town and port provide different daily routines, connected by the historic tram. If a broad beach-resort stay is your stronger priority, investigate the Alcúdia area as an alternative second base rather than forcing this itinerary to fit.

Days one and two: let Palma be more than a transfer point

Use arrival day for getting to the hotel, settling in and a meal nearby. If you arrive early, take a short walk rather than booking a timed attraction that depends on a punctual flight.

Give day two to a compact city route. Choose one main indoor or cultural visit, check its current opening and ticket arrangements, and build the rest of the day around walking and meals nearby. Leave time to stop in a square or take a break when the heat or crowds make that more appealing.

Do not add a distant beach and a mountain village to the same city day. The purpose of staying in Palma is to enjoy the city at a pace that a quick excursion would not allow.

Day three: a selective outing or more city time

Use the third day for one outing that is easy from your accommodation, or continue exploring Palma if that is what you enjoy. Check both the outward and return services when using public transport, including any current route alerts.

If you want a beach session, choose a specific location after checking the journey and facilities. Keep the afternoon manageable enough to return without rushing. A free evening before a hotel move is useful for packing and confirming the next day's arrangements.

Day four: move to the Sóller area

Choose the transfer method according to luggage, timing and the experience you want. The historic railway can be part of the holiday, but confirm the current service and baggage arrangements. Do not assume the train and tram operate as one seamless connection to your hotel's door.

If driving, check parking at the second property before arrival. If using a taxi or bus, inspect the last leg from the arrival point. The scenic setting should not obscure practical details such as steps or a long uphill walk.

Make the afternoon local. Learn the route to food and the waterfront or town centre, then enjoy the change of surroundings without another major excursion.

Days five and six: one active day, one flexible day

Choose one day for an outing that suits your interests, such as a village visit, a suitable walking route or a boat experience. Check the demands and current access of the exact route, not just a destination description. Mountain roads and exposed walking can take more energy than the distance suggests.

Keep the other day for the coast, the town or returning to somewhere you enjoyed. Swap the days if conditions affect your planned activity. A flexible day also allows different members of the group to choose a slower pace without disrupting a chain of reservations.

Day seven: keep the airport journey simple

Confirm the transfer and work backward from your flight's required airport arrival time. Include rental return if applicable. For an early departure, consider whether a final night nearer the airport or a prearranged transfer gives you the more comfortable ending.

Before booking, compare the two-base plan with staying in one place. Keep the split when you want substantial time in both settings. If the move adds more inconvenience than variety, simplify and enjoy a smaller part of Mallorca more fully.
